Saint Louis, MO, May 25, 2010 – Fresh from the farm produce and high-quality artisan foods are coming to downtown! The Downtown Farmers’ Market will be a destination for those who work, live, and visit downtown. It will showcase Missouri and Illinois produce and attract thousands of visitors each week while making downtown a focal point in the regional local food movement that is increasing in popularity each year. The market will add to the health of downtown residents, attract new visitors, and put downtown St Louis on the local foods map.
The Downtown Farmers’ Market is an effort by the award-winning Tower Grove Farmers’ Market in partnership with Downtown Now! and Local Harvest Grocery & Cafe. The market will take place on Thursdays in June through October from 4pm - 7pm and will be located on Locust Street between 8th and 9th Streets and will feature: 30 vendors of locally grown and produced foods including fresh produce, seasonal fruits, artisan salumi, grass-fed beef, pasture-raised pork, chickens, and eggs, local baked goods, gourmet chocolates, and more!
